
Global Tourism Economy Forum
The Global Tourism Economy Forum, held annually in Macau since 2012, is a leading International platform for leaders from public, private, and academic realms can gather to engage to discuss the promotion of the sustainable development of the Global Tourism Industry.
Since the very inception of the Global Tourism Economy Research Center (GTERC) in 2010, Occasions has been playing a pivotal role in the creation and organization of the Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) from its inaugural edition in 2011 up to the 10th anniversary edition.
Working alongside and together with the Forum Chairman Edmund Ho and Secretary-General Pansy Ho, and directly working with leaders from all sector department of the Macau Government including Secretary of Social Affairs and Culture, Secretary of Finance and Economy, Protocol Office, MGTO, as well as the Chinese Liaisons Office and Foreign Affairs Commissioner, Occasions has charted and developed the concept and program of the forum around the fulfilment of Macau Government’s vision in using GTEF as an international high-level platform to promote the diversification of Macau to become a World Center of Leisure and Tourism. Cited by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang as one of the major initiatives of the Macao SAR Government that the Central Government fully supports, GTEF has been highly acclaimed by the MICE industry with four awards received from the Macao Convention & Exhibition Association in 2014 to 2018 and 2 awards by China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo (CITIE) in 2018 & 2019.
