Masahiko Kondo Macau Concert
Masahiko Kondo also known as Matchy, graced the revered MGM Theater in Macau with his resplendent "Masahiko Kondo Macau Concert” on 23 Dec 2023. This occasion marked the legendary artist's first performance in Macau, as he performed for his fans a one-night-only spectacle on Christmas Eve.
Matchy, a prodigy who emerged onto the stage at the age of 15, unveiled his first solo masterpiece, "Sneaker Blues", at the age of 16. Kondo emerged in the 1980s and become an iconic figure in Asian pop music, inspiring numerous cover versions of his hits.
For the concert, Matchy was accompanied by a symphony of Japanese instrumentalists and his longtime collaborator Yoshio Nomura. The event aimed to transport Matchy's devoted fans on a nostalgic musical journey through his timeless compositions that had deeply resonated across Asia. The cutting-edge MGM Theater served as the backdrop for this one-night-only spectacle.
